Will the 2 missing amps make a difference, because that's my scenario. My PSU is only giving 24A and my vid card needs 26A. Is the Antec Truepower 2.0 a good power supply? It has 2 12V rails, each with 19A on them. I don't understand the 2 12V rails though, does it add both of them together?

Ok, from u saying its 19a on each of them, i immediatlyknow you're getting the 550watt version. Ok, it BASICALLY means 38a total, one of the rails is dedicated to the CPU, the other, the motherboard, including vid card if you don't have a seperate connector. Well if 19A is gonna go to the CPU, and the other 19 is goin to the vid card, that's only 19...it needs 26. And do you think that this may be why I'm not getting as good performance as I should, because it's not getting enough power?Comment

You dont need 26A on the 12v rail for a gfx card. Thats 312watts for god sake. A full Athlon FX system with a 7800GTX will use about 280Watts and would need a good 350Watt PSU.
Todays top gfx cards only use about 60 - 80Watts.Comment

Dude, I took it to my local computer shop and they thought the same thing, but they pulled up the specs on the internet and they saw it for themselves. 26 A. Why would I make it up if I'm trying to get help...Originally posted by neo265Comment

No, you need 26A to run the entire system with a 7800GTX. The 7800GTX doesn't need 26A itself. Your PSU is more than capable of handling that card. You're in good shape with what you have.Comment
