    What do you think?

What do you think? Please point out any incompatibilities i may have and suggest a good PSU for this setup. Something under $150. I already have an x800XL so i dont need a vid card yet.

I was waiting all summer for a crossfire setup but i cant anymore. They just announced that they will release the X850 master cards tech and who knows how long it will take for the MOBOs to ship.

Re: New PC, what do you think

If you're getting a SLI motherboard, why not go with Nvidia SLI video cards instead of the ATI Crossfire? Or was that the point of the last statement in your post? If you're going SLI, return or ebay that x850 and go for a 7800GT, or two 7800GTs for SLI (if you have the money for two)

As for a PSU...this is the one I'm looking at for when I build my SLI setup: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817153024

          Re: What do you think?

Get a brandname PSU, 500 - 550 W. The worst thing you can do for this, or any other, setup is being cheap on the powersupply. ThermalTake makes good supplies.

              Re: What do you think?

The only thing I'd suggest is using the Asus A8N-E series rather than the SLI. The X800XL isn't an SLI compatible card. If you plan on upgrading to Nvidia and SLI later than go with the board you have posted. Other than that, that rig should kick some ass.

                Re: What do you think?

i got an x800XL card a long time ago because i got a good deal on it and i thought that no game really needed an SLI cofig right away so by the time anything will i will probably upgrade my card and then just buy another one (Nvidia) even later. So then i read about Crossfire ( around JUNE) so then i thought it was perfect for me since i have an x800 card already so i waited and waited but no crossfire ever came out. So if i get SLI i'll probably get the sli config instead of a crossfire later. What about the other parts? anything good/bad you can say about the RAM or sound card. I know the CPU rocks.

                  Antec TPII-550W or

                  Enermax 600W SLI or

Seasonic S12 600W (super quiet! Over 80% efficient!!!)

All SLI certified. The jury is out on Crossfire. Stick with NVidia.

Oh, and as for the memory, spend a little less on the processor and more for DDR-500 2x1gig Crucial Ballistix.

Then save yourself some money and just get a PCI-E motherboard, no need for SLi if you don't even have an nvidia card.
