    Re: Nvidia GeForce 7

Well, there aren't very many motherboards out there that support pci-express and have a socket 478. Newegg only has 2 motherboards that would work for u:

    &

Now, I've never actually dealt with either of those companies before but I'd probably recommend the Albatron.

    P.S. I'd take a AMD 3200+ venice core over a P4 anyday

No way! :) Nah I'm really satisfied with my P4. It's bloody amazing.

      Installs Windows in 7 minutes.

For gaming, you can't beat AMD.

Yes it is, go look at benchmarks. AMDs are all over the top, even a 3200 beats a P4 3.6 in some cases.

Actually, and I wish I still had the link, the 7800GTX was tested on various CPU's. An AMD Athlon 64 3000+, 3500+, 4000+, and FX57. Non of the cpu's tested made any difference in fps accept the 3000+ and it was 2fps slower, and only at 1600x1200. The 7800GTX will not be bottlenecked by the processors available today unless you have an old XP.

What does bottlenecked mean? I've come across with this word a lot of times, lol.

Is it something like crappier? :P

                  Re: Nvidia GeForce 7

Look at a water bottle, the body is larger than the neck and as water(data) goes through it the water would slow as it enters the narrow neck. Let's say you have an Nvidia 7800GTX w/ 4gig OCZ Extreme PC3200 and and dual Raptors in RAID0, and a 350Mhz processor, exaggerating for affect, that processor cannot possibley pass information through as fast as the othe components and would slow the machine down as a hole. The processor would be the "bottleneck" being unable to process the data fast enough to keep up.

Basically, it's crappier than the rest of the rig. :)

Owned. But do you have 2 GTX's or just one...in your sig it just says 7800 GTX in SLi, you could have 1 card in a SLi Motherboard.

If I'm going to buy a 7800 GTX I'll have to get a new motherboard and processor because of the sockets and PCI-E. ):

Jackass the 7800GTX uses socket PCI-E

754 etc etc are CPU sockets.

                              BTW my 3dmark 05 score is 8423
