    Which should I go for..

AMD Athlon 64 4000 San Diego
    $368

    or

AMD Athlon 64 3700 San Diego
    +
Audigy 2 ZS (OEM, i dunno what that is though)
    $299 + $70 = $370.

Will there be much of a difference from the 3700 and the 4000, and will the Audigy 2 ZS increase performance in gaming (i heard it does over onboard sound..)

I heard the Audigy blows onboard sound away, and actually improves performance...but what I need to know now, is how much of a difference is there going to be between the 3700 and 4000.

Go for the second one, and overclock the 3700 to 4000 speed. And yes, the Audigy 2ZS will blow away any onboard sound (except possibly SoundStorm (which you can't get anymore), but support for it as pretty much disappeared).

i say get the audigy2 i just bought the gamer for $100 and it does free up your prosseror so it will be like getting the 4000 ,but you might want to to look into the audigy 4 which i've just seen at best buy for ~$65 since its a 4 its probabley more advanced and has same benifits, just may be less known, "failed promotion?" i'd check it out you want it to have EAX 24bit and (CM??? don't remember but has to do with 3D positioning for games, look at A2 Gamer to find out) but i would absolutly go with the 3700 and sound card - if you realy want a kick look up 5.1 headphones w/mic.

You don't need to spend the extra for the Gamer. The only difference between it and the regular 2ZS is a couple of games in the box. If you don't want the games, just get the regular (even better an OEM one). The cards themselves are all the same.

2nd choice all the way...the only difference between the two is that the 4000 is .2GHz faster than the 3700...
You could easily overclock the 3700 to match or surpass a non overclocked 4000.
