How well is this upgrade? (DIFFERENT)

Alright, I decided to make a new post since the other post seemed to almost die... anyway, I am getting a new comp for christmas, it will be 3.0 ghz, 1 gb RAM, PCI-E ATI Radeon (something, dunno what card exactly) and I will upgrade my card depending on how much money I get on top of my $130... should I get a 6600gt, 6800gt, or x800xl(or gt? dunno wth the names are) and what settings/fps should I get with this new comp, THANKS!, oh ya, forgot to mention, it's a Pentium 4, although it's a Dell and I heard dell's suck, will this be a big prob :cry:

Yes for gaming, for the most part Dells suck. You may need a bigger PSU for those video cards, but with dell you can't just use a standard PSU, they have a proprietary connector. You should just think about building your own and saving some money.

soooo... besides building my own, is there anything similar I can get for

And with the dell what will my primary settings/fps be?

www.ibuypower.com is decent, if you just completly refuse to save money and DIY.

Get a custom made comp- WAY more bang for the buck! and dells suck.

www.ecollgepc.com is pretty cheap too. i personally got a computer from them and I love it.

Go to custom builder on the left, and go all the way down to AMD Athlon 64 939 PCI-Express. That's what you want, don't get Pentium 4. I suggest for 1000 dollars this system:

AMD Athlon 64 3200+ (They sold me a Venice core, not sure if they are all venice)

1 GB Corsair XMS Memory

6800 GT

Play around with the rest, but shoot for those 3 components. You should really go for 2GB ram.

2 gigs of ram, a 6800gt and around a 3.2 ghz = all on high, 4x aa.

I am not getting it to improve my "playing ability" I am improving it so I can play with less choppiness and more detail
