How well is this upgrade?

Hey guys, I am getting an upgrade for christmas...

Old-5500 fx 128mb PCI New-6600gt
Old-512mb RAM(2700) New-1 gig
Processor AMD Athlon 2600+ 2.1 ghz....
Can only handle 100% distance, med geometry, med effects
My question is.... what settings will I be able to play on, what fps should I be getting? and what resolution would I be able to handle? thanks

Well, with a 6600GT and 1 gig ram you should be able to play at reasonably good fps with settings around medium, processor is a little weak but it should still be able to handle it. Probably expect around a constant 50 or 60, dips of course with artillery and lots of action but should be perfectly playable.

No and i doubt he will get fps that high. I would recommend getting a new processor, but with that you need to get a new motherboard because the only processor worth upgrading to now is an amd 64 socket 939. With that you can get a pci-express slot and get a pci-express 6600gt!!!**the same price just different plug** If your not familiar with pci-express its just a new slot for the graphics card to make it faster. Agp will not fit in pci-express.

OK, just found out I also have an integrated system, will this cut back alot from what the card and memory will perform?
