AMD Athlon 64 4000+ San Diego or Clawhammer?

Which core should I get? I'm most likely going to upgrade my processor once I get the money for selling my Ultra, because I think my current processor is bottlenecking my vid card. Which core should I get?

Also, will upgrading to one of those have a performance increase or would it really just be a waste of money?

Also think about a 3700+ san deigo, has the 1mb CACHE and when overclocked to 2.6ghz it matches FX55 performace.

3700 comes at 2.2ghz

So should I get 3700 or 4000? Somebody answer this...will either of them increase my performance, because I think I should be getting better FPS than I am. On BF2 I'm getting from 35-80 and from benchmarks I have seen the average is 99.9. On FEAR I get an average FPS of like 30. CS:S I get like 50-100. Average would be around 75 maybe.

You won't get much of an FPS boost in BF2 upgrading from what you already have. Probably would in Source though.

If you're willing to spend the money and have a mobo that supports it, I'd suggest putting that money towards another 7800.

Well I have a question..if people say the number on the right side of the FPS count (ex. 69/12.5) is the milliseconds between frames, would that have any effect on a monitor? Would a monitor with a 8ms response time bring that number down? I have no clue about monitors..

Do you know how to overclock?

Also do you sell stuff on eBAY?

go to www.overclock.net forums and ask questions there.

I would get a 3700+ OC it with a XP-90 to FX55 speeds and sell your ram for a better quality one.

If you just looking for a CPU on its own then the 4000+ is your choice.

Read into overclocking tho mate.
