Help with 3dMark05

I know 3dmark05 doesn't have a whole lot to do with BF2's performance, but I just installed my 3500+ AMD 64 and my score went from a 4131 (with 2ghz P4) down to a 2200-2300. Only difference now is my video card seems to run about ~20C hotter. I already ordered the heatsink for it but I am skeptical about whether or not the lower temps will solve the problem.

BF2 plays better, but my score lowered by 50%:hmm:

You changed the motherboard too?

what kind of powersuply do you have?
mayby your system gets too litle power...

Did you reformat? If not save all critical documents and reformat. Re-install your video, motherboard, sound, and network drivers. Then re-run 3dMark05. I was getting less then 3000 w/X850XT PE but I had forgotten in my latest re-format to re-install my motherboards drivers. When I did, my score shot up to 6100 or so.

I have a 420, which should be ample even with a 7800GTX. I reformatted and installed Win XP and the first thing installed on the HD was BF2.

Make sure you install your motherboard, graphics, sounds, and network drivers! It will help!

3dmark 05 is all video card.

Try 3dmark 03 or 01, they're better overall benchmarks.

WHOO HOO! I found the driver disk and looked through it and found some other drivers, CPU, AGP, etc. Installed them. Played BF2 on Highest settings 4xAA and got between 70-90fps on a 20 player Karkand. Then got between 60-80 on a 64 player Karkand.

I just tried 3dmark05 and instantly knew I would get a better score!

My score before Drivers: ~2300
After drivers: 5796

Thats with my card not all the way overclocked to my sig specs. Its a great feeling to get this thing kicking bf2's @$$ .
