Hey i got an AMD 3000+ with a venice core and 1gb of Corsair Value Ram. Im on a MSI k8n Neo 4. So when im in the bios, do i just up the FSB or do i have to do something else. Dont Flame me.

alright since you already got the venice and what not put the multi to max and lower your ddr speed to 166
then play with the FSB ... and you should get pretty good results depending on your PSU. what is it? -

Don't just go raising the FSB, you'll kill stuff if your not careful.

You can take a look at this other guide too, for A64s only, it explains how to find max, FSB (HTT) and CPU speed and RAM, in 3 increments so one doesn't interfere with the findings of the other, and when you know the max of the 3 you are ready to OC properly. It explains most terms and settings too.

What mobo do you use? I use a gigabyte K8 Triton that came with handy software OC (EasyTune 5). It is great and if I OC my puter too much it reboots back to mobo defaults. Go here to see more info http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/Motherboard/Default.htm
No this is not a plug for this manufacturer, but check your mobo maker they may have similar software.Comment

Read, Read, Read, then read some more. Make sure you know EXACTLY what you're doing first. The 64 3000+ is 1800 stock and the multiplier is locked at 9x so you can't go higher. You can raise the FSB and voltage, but don't do anything until you feel very comfortable. Some of those have gone to 2.4 and some work hard just to get 1.9, take your time and be careful!
