DDR2 is not compatible with NF4/ AMD.

2 x 512 is outdated for BF2, get 2 x 1gb.

Get a WD Raptor 74.

Your system does NOT support DDR2. Plus there is no use for it to be honest. It isn't some great leap in technology, it just allows for higher speeds, most of which is not used by todays processors. So the Corsair should be DDR400, and you could up it to 2GB for the same price.

Secondly I believe that motherboard supports SATA2 which has 3GB of bandwith versu 1.5 of SATA 150. And they don't cost anything extra, so might as well get it. It may not give a huge performance boost, but when moving large files, it could be useful.

Third thing is, if the 3500 has a 512kb L2 Cache it isn't worth it. You can get a 3200+ and easily OC it w/aftermarket cooling (which I suggest anyways) to a 3500. The only thing that would be a benifiet is if the 3500 has a 1MB L2 Cache, in which case get it, and OC it to a 3700+.

That being said the extra money you save should be able to get you a 7800GTX which would nicely top the sytem.

WD 74 is not worth it. I have two of them in a RAID-0 and there is no significant performance increase. Maybe if the adapated to SATA2 instead of SATA 150, there would be a greater increase, but as it stands, there isn't much of an increase.

Swap the memory for 2 gigs Corsair valueselect pc3200 and you'll have a fine machine.

It's going to rock. If you're uncomfortable assembling it, bring it to a local shop and have them put the parts in. Then you can do the Windows install and such yourself.

Some local shops will not touch your computer unless you pay them for insurance reasons. So they may charge you to assemble it. Honestly though it isn't hard. PM me if you want instructions. I have built and maintained computers since I was 14.
