    Artic Cooling on Video Card?

I'm curious who has Artic Cooling or another aftermarket cooling device on their video card. Also, what performance you have encountered. I put an Artic Cooling on my card and was amazed! My idle temp dropped 10c and under full load dropped 21c. Not to mention my overall system droppped 2c.

I put one on my old ATI 9700 pro i was able to O'clock it quite a bit more. I now have a evga 6800 and intend on doing the same.

I put one on my X850XT and was not impressed. I got the same temps, my card still overheats at times when playing BF2.

What doesn't make sense what-so-ever is youre idle dropped 10°C, but full load it dropped 21°C... That means it runs about the same with or without a game loading.

        6800GT 256DDR - 58°-59°C idle, 65°-69°C full load for me =/ Regular ****

Maybe his load temp was 30-40* over idle?

Possibly, but sounds a bit weird on an X850

There are tons of factors to include. Room temp, case ventilation, clock speed, maybe a faulty fan from the start... who knows. All I know is I just ordered a Zalman heatsink for my 6800GT since I'm running 75-80C under prolonged loads and an Idle at 58-60C. If my idle went down 10C (which is normal for the upgraded Zalman) then my load-temp could drop ~20C and be within 10C of idle. Not totally impossible but just upgrading termal grease its doubtful.

After putting the Copper Zalman cooler on my 9700 Pro, I can and do OC the card from the default 325Mhz core (it actually came out of the box underclocked to 300) to an amazing 411Mhz. Temp remains under 39C at full load.

My Typical stock cooler on the X850 idled at 46c now at 35c-36c. Under full load and playing for 45+ mins. it used to be 71c, now never goes over 50c.
