X-Fi sound card Probs.

Yup, just got the sound card. I have to say it ROCKS, but i got a couple of probs. Wondering if any of u X-fi sound card holders that have surround sound speakers do to. #1Does your surround sound not work? Like it only comes out the front speakers? #2 when u go to the ingame audio and u switch the Audio Renderer and u change it to Creative X-Fi, does your game crash? because it does to me.


I for got to mention that i got the Logitech Z-5500 speakers. Any help would much be appricated.

Re-install Battlefield 2. New hardware makes this game go crazy.

As for the speakers test them with Creative's Speaker Diagnostics in your Creative Audio Control Center (the blue/white speaker in your system tray by the clock). It should tone each speaker, if not then you have a problem with the connection.

THis is a prob with EA/dice i have come to the conclusion. But the 5.1 surround sound in game doesnt work for me anymore. Is there a Option in the game were u can switch it to 2.1, 4.1, 5.1?

Yes it is surround sound compatible, and makes a world of difference.

I got x-fi fatal1ty dude and yeh sound is awesome. I was also experience problems with it in bf2, wasnt crashing but was having massive lag. To fix it i went to the my documents bf2 folder and then went into mods and then deleted everything in the cache folder.

It solved everything! your game will have to reoptimise and wait a while but try it, might help with your problem to.

Tried this, not lagging that much anymore . But still dont get surround sound . I am just gona call up EA and ask them, then i will call up Creative. Unless someone knows something else i can try. i tried to reinstalled BF2 alredy. doesnt work.

Hmm just been playing some more and now my games lagging again hopefully new patch will fix issue

I have those speaker and I had the same problem at first but then I did something in the creative sound options that fixed it but I have a Audigy 2zs....

I had the Audigy 2 ZS, and i had the same prob but its on the back of the control pannel for the speakers, theres a switch on the back, u can switch it to 6CH.
