    Ram upgrade

ok i have a OK computer the downside is i have a PCI card, Fx5500 256mb OC, but i run the game fairly well.. i can run everything on high exept lighting, have it on Low.. if i were to upgrade to 1 gig could i run medium hopfully .. with textures on high... my friend has a 5700, and had 512 ram like i do.. he went from barly playing on low with lag Alot.. to playing on high with hardly any lag..

I went from 1536 ram, little lag and a few studders, to 2 gigs and can run everything high no lag or studders.

I highly doubt you can play on all high with a 5500.

You said you play everything on high.

And I don't have a 6600, I have a 6800 Ultra and when I get my 78 this week or next, I will be selling it for 300 dollars. If you're interested PM me.

It all depends on how much your mobo supports. You should start by finding that out.

                        Re: Ram upgrade

if you want more RAM just get another 512, I mean it would be kind of stupid to get 2 gigs when the rest of your computer isn't that high end. I remember seeing a signature once which was like, Pentium 2.4GHz | FX5200 | 2 gigs RAM | god that was funny

1 gig is enough really, 2 gigs will get you in a few seconds faster and stop stuttering with artillery and stuff (if you get that), but unless you are really obsessed with getting high fps it's not really worth it.

i dont want 2 gigs.. a waste on money IMO i just want a gig.. and if anyone has a extra computer not using... ill buy from you, either a 1 gig or two 512's.. (Pc3200 ram)

That's not stupid at all. More RAM is never, ever a bad thing, no matter what the rest of your specs are.

how can someone asking so many questions have an opinion on what is / isn't a waste of money.

if you already have the answers, why are you posting questions?
