My 6800GT is practically Identical to my friends' X800XL(s). Plus with an SLi Mobo you can increase your performance past any Ati card with another 6800GT down the line. Its a no-brainer.

Open to any other options? With the Evga bundle now you can get an EVGA SLI Mobo and 7800gt for $400 plus a $40 rebate...

Yeah, was just goin to point that out until i read your post. 6800 has only 12 pipes, and, it only has 650mhz memory clock (700mhz for 128mb version), and 300mhz core clock, all that together, is no match against a X800XL. SLi MIGHT just get ya there, but 256mb 6800s are goin at least for 200 bucks, two of which will be at least 400 bucks, and the SLi mobos are more expensive. X800XL, if you said 6800GT, then, i would say depends on if you might get another one in the future, and are willing to spend more money for the SLi mobo.

Well, i would recommend that, or getting a 6800gt with or without a SLi mobo, depending if you wana update instead of just build a entirely new machine. Or get a 7800GT w the eVga SLi mobo for 400 bucks.

Why not just get a ULi board and a 6800GT? And later you can upgrade to PCI-e x16 when a better card is more affordable.

PS: But yeah, between the two go for the better gfx card if you're planning on using it for BF2

It's more expensive, plus, Sli is already PCI-e, there's no AGP SLi. SLi mobos cost more. Plus, when crossfire comes out (in october) you should be able to put it on that mobo, and get a R520 XL Crossfire Editon or something, and it would totally rock, on Crossfire it's more flexible, you can actulally use different chipsets/cards for each slot.

Am still going with the ATi Radeon x800xl 256mb the price is too good compared to 6800gt and all that counts for me if i put it all settings on HIGH and texture, shadows and am gonna be really happy witch is what this video card does!

Asus graphics cards are over priced. It would probably be the same price or cheaper to get an eVGA or XFX 6800GT.
