The only things that you might wanna save on is the mobo, and the cpu. The mobo is a bit expensive, i can tell, SLi from eVga. If you want a nice cheap mobo, go to newegg.com, MSI SLi is running for 99.99 after rebates. And CPU, unless you're really going to run games that use multi-processor support, X2 not needed. It's been shown in benchmarks, that the most difference a CPU ever made on a 7800GTX was at most 1fps!!! And after you get that 100 dollars of saving from downgrading mobo and CPU, you might wanna put some extra cash to the hard drive, (80GB) is awfully small, i have over triple the size hard drive) 250GB SATA150 hard drives are goin for only 120 bucks nowadays. And a nice vid card helps, you could find a nice X800XL, or 6800GT for about 250-300 bucks, and note, another option, get an eVga 7800GT that comes with the free eVga sli mobo, it's only 400 bucks for vid card, plus mobo.

I agree, you'd be better off with an Athlon 64 3800 or 4000 and a better video card. Maybe a 6800Ultra or the 7800/mobo combo that Eddy pointed out.
