No way to tell yet, supposedly crossfire is compatible with all games as opposed to SLI. There's no way to know for sure until it's released and thoroughly tested.

Hmm, crossfire might have better technology. But i think at the moment Nvidia have better cards!

Crossfire is more flexible, and will out preform SLi due to the sheer power of the cards that ATI is making for them. However, flexibility will come at a cost. The master cards for Crossfire will range from 350-500 dollars in cost. That is in addition to another card. However, you will not need matching cards to run Crossfire. Rumor also has it, that Nvidia cards will also be able to be inserted into a crossfire setup, to run an SLi type setup as well.

So really, it is a matter of opinion. SLi is much more rigid in that it requires the same exact card, with the same BIOS version, versus Crossfire which will allow for different cards, and different BIOs.

My guess is the people who need uber system will go with Crossfire, due to power and flexibility of the system (the R520s will be released along with Crossfire towards Q3, aka Christmas time). However gamers who need a system on a budget, will stick with SLi.

the crossfire wont be any big boost in performance or any less it will be rougly the same. The only benefit crossfire will have is mitchmatching cards.

Having crossfire will not make your system uber thats rubbish :p

Someone managed to beat sli with crossfire and now someone has beaten crossfire with sli. So thus proves they are going to be very close and will hold no big benefit between eachother

People forget this one fact. The 9800XT beat the 5950, its equivilent. The X850XT PE beat out the 6800 Ultra its equivilent. Now Nvidia has the 7800GTX, currently the markets fastest card, but it is also the next generation of Nvidia card. So to compare it to the X850 line up would be unfair. The R520 will be ATI's next level card, and by all comparisions thus far the R520 looks like once again, it will be Nvidia's lineup.

Umm..... The X850 came out WAYYY after the 6800 Ultra. So it was never it's equivilant... the x800 was.

I wonder if the price of the 7800GTX will drop when the R520 is released...I'm pretty sure the X850 will, but it would be really nice if the 7800 did as well.
