    well i challenge these people to try and get decent performance out of my system with 4x512mb. 4 double sided sticks swamps the A64 (winchester certainly) and it is only supposed to run at 333mhz. getting it to 400mhz is fine but this instability from swamping the memory controller has massively lowered my cpu overclock, even with dividers.

      Overclockability suffers on most MB's with 4-512's. Although without OCing you should be able to get 4-512's to run just fine. I had an Asus A8N w/ 3000+ Winchester and 4-512's and never ever had instability issues, although I did lose the ability to oc over 9x220.

        Instead of 4x512MB how about 4x1GB? would that make a difference?

          I have the same board and issues , I had 2x 512meg sticks , bought another 512meg and my bus speed droped back down to 333mhz instead of 400mhz . I should have check at MSI first ..... 8-( You need to use 1gig modules.

              Um, mine running a hell of a lot slower than 333, that's the problem. I wouldn't mind if it was running 333 as that's what the manual says it would run with 4 sticks.

                I can't confirm dual channel, but the speeds are correct.

                      Just an update ran memtest on the 2 newer stick and they failed, so it looks like it was more an issue with bad ram raqther than using the 4 sticks.
