Just thought I'd throw that out there....Still cannot get my 4x512 to run at faster than 141mhz (282 effictive). I'm about to throw these sticks out the window....

Sounds like a mobo problem... 2x1gb is much better for AMDs though.... Get some PC4000s and OC the venice even further.

Eh, I'm getting a new NF4 board next wekk hopefully that will help, I doubt it will though.

As far as oc'ing the venice further, I think it's about at it's limit for this one.

I'm surprised it has under clocked that much. I would guess it is a BIOs issue with your board. I'm sure the new board won't do that, or so I would hope. Your clock should be 200mhz, but I'm sure you knew that.

Yeah, I know. The sticks have a lifetime warranty so I"m hoping to exchange them. I'm thinking I got 2 sets from diffrent production runs and they are using diffrent modules. They have heat spreaders so I can't see which modules they are using to see if that is indeed the problem. I e-mailed tech support, so hopefully they will have something useful to say.

Edit: I can also relax the timings all the way, but still can't even get it to run at the 200:133 divider @ 181mhz.

Did you research what mobo to get? DFI's NF4 on the LANPARTY series if I recall do damn good overclocking. Explore that option if you got the extra money (they offer a NF4-Ultra and NF4-SLI)...not sure about Abit or Asus on OCing...

Sorry to hear you're having issues. I run 4-512 sticks on an Asus A8N. In the BIOS the board forced it to 333, but I manually set it at 400 and it's been very stable. I hope the motherboard solves your problem. FYI, it ran stable with both the 64 3000+ and 64 3800+ 939's.

Yeah I think (hope) a new mobo will help. I have a feeling that is't undervolting the ram.

Have you tried setting Command Rate to 2T, it should be set to that when using 4 sticks in a AMD 64 mobo. Settings is slower than 1T but required if using 4.

yes agreed. i have 4x512mb kingmax pc4000 on an a8v with 3200 winchester and it doesnt run as slick as i hear 2x1gb would do.

Does anyone have a link to actual test results? I've heard that 4-512's in dual channel will outperform 2-1g sticks. This is due to the computer writing to 2 sticks and reading from another 2. I Googled but found jack squat.
