    What's the best Nvidia driver?

Could someone tell me whats drivers they are using for their nvidia cards.
I was using 78.11 for my 7800gtx and I get 8036 3D Mark 05 score, then I change the driver to 77.50 and I get 8156, so is there any really good ones that people like using most, cuz I cant be bothered going through tons of drivers.

    Cheers!!!

ur pc will never score the same 3d mark score twice. 78.01 is the best for me

And it looks like ur GPU is underclocked (look at sig)

Yeah I'm pretty sure your memory clock should be 1250, probably a typo.

As far as drivers are concerned.

      I've tried:

      77.50, 77.72, 77.76, 77.77, 78.01, 78.03.

I remember having problems with the 77.72 drivers in relation to videos which was fixable at times but still a factor.

Performance wise the 78.03 drivers seemed like the best for the first few times I used them, but now I'm on the 78.01 drivers.

Any current driver will give you same performance in terms of IQ and BF2 among other games. Most people try to find the "best" drivers that give them the higher 3dmark scores. Which in terms of gaming could be a 1-2 fps diference and nothing to cry over. There's no point in looking and changing drivers a million times, it's not worth it. Plus you'll start to get paranoid about which driver is good or not.

This is completely false and it's people like this that create problems...

Not all drivers will give you the same performance...

Yes, your 3dmark 05 scores will change depending on the driver but that isn't relevant to the other factors in using a specific driver.

Some drivers may fix problems others had, some may give you better performance, others may enhance quality.

If you have any real questions about hardware/ drivers/ or anything computer related these aren't the forums to post questions in.

Hey djstubbs.... since I'm so wrong, do me a favor. Download the last 10 drivers or whatever you want and benchmark a BF2 demo in em. And post the FPS average you get.....
