I was wondering wat can i get for my rig for under 250$ i can spend up to 600 but im looking under 250 cause i really dont need EXTREMLY high graphics...i just want medium or high
i have AGP fyi....
I am confused about this whole PSU needing to be over 400watts. I have run my P4, 2GB DDR, 6800GT, 2 HD, 3 Disk Drive system with a 350 and 420 watt PSU with no problems.
I have two harddrives and an x800xl running on a a Seasonic 380 watt PSU. My psu has 80% efficiency. Most power supplies claim 400 watts but in reality, they dont even come close to producing 400 watts.
The only time you will need more then 400 watts is if you plan to use SLI. Other then that it's just a waste of power.
Efficiency is all that matters. Get the cool master and you'll be fine. Don't listen to the nonsense about needing "more then 400 watts". Buy only reputable name brands such as Antec, Cool Master, and Seasonic.
but im really not going to do any like serious gaming or anything...
and somone said that was enough
Exactly. Don't listen to anyone here. Read that article I posted earlier. Get the cool master. Your sistem will work FINE. Even if you plan to keep the PSU for a future computer, it's not worth it. If you decide to build yourself a computer 3 years form now, the PSU will more then likely change and power requirements will differ. So dont listen to anyone here and just get the damn cool master. The only reason to get a 400+ PSU right now is if you have SLI.

You tell him not to listen to anyone here but then proceed to throw more wood onto the suggestion fire, and in a pretty ill natured way too.
Do you work for Coolermaster or something?
