true, although 6600gt is not current gen.

no...6600GT is current generation until a mid-range nvidia 7-series comes out.

6600GT is a better choice - more performance with newer games, shader 3.0 support (a big debateable feature, but more and more games are supporting it), HDR support (some games are taking advantage of this), and best of all, its a nice card for performance/price right now, aside from the 6800 NU. The ATI 9800pro is respectable, but it is an older card and does not support as many of the newer features developers are just starting to include.

Look at my sig - I use a 6600GT personally at those settings and I do play in CAL matches and pubs fine.

The choice is yours really, but I highly recommend the 6600GT. Hasn't failed me yet.
