I would have told you you needed 2 GB of RAM

Your video card is bottlenecked by the ram aswell. 7800's have been proven to perform much better in 2gig systems. Not to mention BF2 pretty much requires the 2 gigs for High.

I have my 2nd GB coming to me on Thursday or Friday of this week. My X850XT PE, plus P4 3.4Ghz should FLY now.

In all honesty I got 30-60 FPS with everything on high, 6xAA with my current 1GB system, but I'm extremely picky. I set my textures to medium, and you can't tell much of a difference at all. And my FPS when to 60+ all the time.

Did you do optimizations beforehand? If not, take a look at tweakguides.com and its BF2 optimziation guide.

The CPU is fine; in fact, the bare minimum to use that 7800 withen a "balance" is a 3500+. That 2nd gb of ram will help things quite a bit either way.

your rig is sexy, its just BF2 is a buggy game at times; patch 1.03 might help...or not.
