I believe that website to be rubbish. There are no other tests to support this and people always bring this site up, but there is no other proof :p

So you do more research and backup these tests.

Those tests cant be accurate id consider it impossible for the amd 3000 to get exact same performance as the fx57 in bf2.

Dude, how long has BF2 been out, and you still haven't figured it out? BF2 doesn't care about your processor, it's more dependent on your RAM and Video. Just because you spent 1000 dollars on a processor you don't really need (although it would be nice to have) doesn't mean that it's so much better in games.

So let's pretend we have 2 computers. they have his setup, but one has a 2billion GHz dual core processor and the other has a 1billion GHz single core processor. (Yes, I know they don't exist!) Now, I believe that they would both run BF2 the same, seeing as how they are both way more powerful than BF2 needs. Obviously, anyone with a brain will agree to that, which shows that there is a cutoff somewhere for a processor that is more powerful than you need. You are saying that it is utterly impossible for the 3000+ to be that cutoff and the FX-57 would clearly run it faster because it is a faster processor. You totally deny the possibility that the 3000+ is plenty fast enough to run BF2 at max speed on any settings with his setup and the FX-57 would just be overkill. Come on, let's be reasonable! Okay, so maybe that site wasn't concrete proof, but you have nothing to prove it wrong so basically you have just as good an argument as Nitemare does. I really don't know. I think that a FX-57 system would run it faster, BUT I don't deny that a 3000+ would possibly run it the same speed with that setup. I just like to stay open to possibilities and make people think. Didn't mean to make this sound like a flame or anything, just something to get you all thinking.:)

Re: New computer orderd, what you think?

I believe the 3000 to run it very well, but there is no doubt in my mind that it will still run better with the fx57 or higher cpu's. Even if it means slightly quicker loading times or more fps it still will be quicker. Why should i have to find another site to prove firingsquad site your the one who put the argument across saying they are exactly the same. But there is only one site proving this, and ive heard numerous times people questioning its benchmarks.

I find it hilarious you say ive wasted a 1000 dollars on a cpu, you think i only play one game and i will play bf2 forever? I could show you dozens of site showing my fx57 wiping the floor with lesser cpu's in all ranges of games.

So your telling me i could get a 1 ghz cpu and it will run the same as my fx57 in bf2 :p riiiiiiiiiight

I never denied anything im only saying i believe the fx57 to be faster and that site to be baloney for benching. Im sure the 3000 will handle bf2 great.

So please stop fabricating things out of thinair i didnt say.

Re: New computer orderd, what you think?

BF2 isn't CPU dependent, therefore the same rig with an FX-57 or 643000+ will have the same results as neither is going to be maxed out. If you have 2 cars one with a V8 and one with a V6, both can go 55mph if that's what's required. Although if something comes along that needs the extra HP then you'll need the FX-57. I don't mean to sound like an ass, as you have a great rig, but don't try and justify your purchase by stating facts you have no proof of. The benchmarks have been shown and until there's a BF2 benchmark that states otherwise, why argue?

Re: New computer orderd, what you think?

I dont have to justify my purchase to anyone, i have the money and can afford it. When i upgrade i make sure to have the latest hardware at that time to make sure my computer stays up to date as long as possible. There is only one site with tests like that so how can u say not to argue :p Even if it isnt just the fps that will increase i bet you a faster cpu will make the game either load quicker or generally run better. It looks like you upgraded your cpu as you are selling your 3000+ and now on a 3800+ why didnt you just stick with the 3000 and save yourself money if there isnt performance boost?

                hmm. hehe

Re: New computer orderd, what you think?

Because, as you, I thought there would be a boost in performance. There was a boost in my video editing performance, but unfortunately there was absolutely no change in BF2. Live and learn. My Aquamark and 3dMark scores improved but BF2 showed no change, which strengthens my belief in the stats posted earlier.

                    Because, as you?

I actually got a performance boost and play on ultra high.

My old cpu was a 2700+ athlon, i could only run on medium with it.

So as you can imagine im very happy with my rocking system, and my nice x-fi fatal1ty arrives tommorow

Re: New computer orderd, what you think?

Don't get me wrong, you do have a great rig. I'm simply stating, in my experience, I don't think you'll see an increase in perfromance with anything from an Athlon 64 3000+ and above. The 3000 is sufficient and won't be a bottle neck, therefore if it's not a bottleneck then increasing the speed of the CPU won't increase performance in BF2.

Never said 3000 was a bottleneck or anything along those lines, never said it was a bad cpu either. Never said anything bad about it.
