new mouse doesn't work

I just bought a new micro innovations optical navigator pro mouse with 5 "programable" buttons, but when i go to BF2 options and try to program the new buttons it says they are the mouse wheel. Also, it only shows up three servers and when i try to join one it says i have modifyed content. I have tried reinstalling but nothing works? any help?

i found out why it said i had modifiyed content, because i forgot to install the patch, but i still am having problems with my mouse

Did you install the drivers that came with the mouse? If not, do so.

the site did not include the mouse i bought, which is weird

ok i found it on the site but their are know knew drivers, anyone have an idea of what to do. Is there a command or something that could make BF2 reconize the 2 buttons?

reinstall mouse drivers and install any software the mouse has
if not take it back to the store and get a mx518

still dosen't work and i aready used the mouse so i can't get refunded

How do they know if you used it or not? Just put it back in its packaging nicely and take it back.....that is unless you ripped the **** out of it. And plus where did you get it that they won't take it back? Where ever it is, never shop there again.
