i just bought a creative sound blaster live 24 bit and the sound is very choppy on radio. iam running it on medium and it is choppy when i used my on-board POS it worked better. Can someone please help me?

I had the EXACT same problem. Go to RUN and type "dxdiag". Go to the sound tab and decrease hardware accelaration to the first bar. Go will get a small FPS boost and the sound will work fine. Enjoy.Comment

To disable the onboard sound you will need to go into your computers BIOS settings. Usually you hit something like F8 when the computer first boots up. (it should say "Press F# for BIOS").
Once you're in BIOs you need to look in the menus for integrated periprials, or onboard controllers, soemthing like that and find "On board Audio Controller" or something simular, and switch it to "disabled". Save and exit your BIOS. DO NOT MESS WITH ANYTHING ELSE IF YOU DONT KNOW WHAT YOU'RE DOING!!!!Comment

On your sound options do you have it set for hardware or software? Mine was on hardware once and ohhhhhhhhh boy was it terrible. Swiched to software and BAM it works fine. InstafixComment

The sounds seem to take up alot of ram...the choppyness might be swapping sounds...try turning setting down on things that use alot of ram. For example, sound quality on medium. Or texture quality on a lower setting. Theres alot of geometry in the game so turning that down will release ram too.Comment

A LOT of people have problems with the sound when set to hardware, using Soundblaster Live, Audigy 1 and 2, 2 ZS, 2 ZS Platinum, whatever...
I use an Audigy 2 ZS Platinum, non Pro, but with kx-drivers, so no EAX, and can get good sound with hardware set. Sometimes teh voices get all choppy and the rest of the sound is good, then You can change a setting in the Control Panel for Sound and audio (Win XP) and select something different in there, id anyone feels that would help them I'll explain. I think that gives You only stereo though, no 5.1, but using headphones, who gives a ....Comment

My wife's computer has an old SBLive value. The rest of the computer is totally up to spec. Unfortunately, I have to set it to 'Software' on hers as well.

"Sounds best on Sound Blaster 24-bit..." etc, designed for Audigy 2... Yeah, and then You can't even have it set to hardware, good job programmers!
Heard a rumor about some sound fixes in the next patch, lets hope so! I'm thinking of getting an X-Fi Elite Pro once they get more common, can't believe they don't have a single X-Fi on Newegg? Either way, I'm hoping for great sound with the upcoming patch and the X-Fi Elite Pro, maybe that'll be enough to actually be able to set it to hardware without to much tweaking? What do You guys think?

I think those cards are too overpriced and they are using BF2 as a marketing tool
I am going to wait for a while and hope for a cheaper OEM edition or something.Comment
