Using a microphone AND speakers (ie. no headphones)

After adjusting various levels, etc. I found that I can play w/my speakers active for full surround sound, and still use the mic in my headphones to talk. The mic only transmits when I speak and pretty much weeds out all the sound from my speakers.

Does anyone make a headset-style mic but WITHOUT the headset part? ie. no sound, just a mic that you attach over ear or something? I searched around (newegg, zipzoomfly, google) but couldn't find anything like this.

Yep, the Labtec LVA-7330 ClearVoice head microphone. Only $11.95, mine works great!

You can get a zalman mic. I attach it to my zalman headphone wire but you can just attach it to ur shirt or whatever.... it's like a news reporter mic.
