    amd processor speed changes?

    why does my processor speed change from 2.2 to 1.77 ghz, to some times 984 mhz? whats wrong.

    Where are you seeing these speed changes? In the BIOS? There's no reason for it, unless your BIOS doesn't recognize the processor properly.

        Is it a laptop? Some laptops (or maybe even desktop CPUs) will scale back the speed when it's not needed in order to preserve power.

          Check during boot up to see if the BIOS is correctly registering the type of CPU. You'll see it on the post screen.

            theres no post screen, its probally saving power, since it always drops when im not using it. is any way to stop it from droping, and keep it at a constant speed?

              Look in you BIOS to see if cool 'n quiet is enabled, if it is disable it.

                Uses less power when you just browsing and more when it needs to.
