One 7800 GTX consumes much less power than one 6800 Ultra so that alone should make you want one.

I have a 600 Watt power supply, so that doesn't bother me, but heat does. Right now my Ultra runs around 80 Celcius with the cases on, but I have the cases off and a fan blowing straight into it so it runs < 60 Celcius full load.

Im not defending the 6800 Ultra, I'm just trying to find out more information G-Money. I know the 78 is a better card.

Go with the 7800GTX. It has newer technologies, and more pipelines.

Also G-Money, 2 6800GTs = ~$520, plus a good mobo, = ~$750.

i would just go with the 2nd 6800... bragging rights... and you would get better performance... no studdering and such

and youd get studdering with a 7800gtx? i dont think so, and you might run into problems with a sli setup and major heat and noise. noise doesnt matter to me. but heat does!
