A 7800GTX or 2x6800 Ultras?

For christmas I am planning on buying an SLi Motherboard and another MSI 6800 Ultra or just a 7800 GTX and holding off on the motherboard. Which would be a smarter choice and why?

Here are the parts and what they would cost

Plan A
eVGA GeForce 7800GTX ACS3 Edition $579

2x MSI GeForce 6800 Ultras $??? (No price on website, card not on newegg) (I payed $479 for mine)

Plan B is a little more expensive...but what do you guys think?

ok get a sli board but with 1 7800gtx, and then later on down the road buy another one. the 7800gtx outproforms 2 6800ultras 95% of the time so get the 78 wont be sorry at all.

I would like to do that, but I cant get a board and the 78..too much money. I'm not buying it my parents are. I don't got a job.

It has been proven by benchmarks that, 2 6800 ULTRAS > 1 7800 GTX, but you have to think about things in the long run. In a few years would you rather buy a new card that is another $600 or would you rather have to buy a $7800 GTX to run her in SLI?
I would pick the latter.

Yeah I might just get one 7800 for now...I'm 15 turning 16 in 10 months...until then 1 78 will do me fine. Once I'm 16 im gonna start working and then I'll be able to put another 78 in there.

sorry my facts were wrong yes 2 6800ultras are better but to bad sli doesnt run that great in games so id still get teh 7800gtx. lmao i just checked new egg and 2 6800gts would cost you about 900 bucks almost including the motehrboard so how can you not afford 1 7800gtx with a sli board?

2 6800 Ultra's are in no way better than one 7800 GTX.

If you haven't noticed my sig, I already have 1 6800 Ultra...so another would be about 450 and then 150 for a mobo would total around 600. Thats about how much the eVGA 7800 GTX KO is. But I just looked around firingsquad and saw ASUS is coming out with a card with Arctic Cooling on it stock, plus higher speeds than the eVGA KO. Wonder how much that's gonna run.

Also to those benchmarks, why dont you post the ones that are around the resolutions MOST people actually play on. Of course the 7800 is gonna own in the higher res because they are newer and are made for higher res.

and if you havent noticed that stubs posted one with 1600x1200 wich alot of people play on. the 7800gtx is still better. it will run AA better AF better and HDR better so theres no point not to. even on 1280x960 the 7800gtx with 8xaa and 16xaf will probably beat the 2 6800ultras. if you want teh damn 6800 so bad then why did you post this thread? oh and 2 6800ultras are going to creat some insane heat so just giving you advice.
