2GB RAM, really that nessercary?

Do i REALLY need 2GB to run all settings HIGH?

If that 1GB of PC 3200 RAM was backed up with a 7800GTX and a 3800+, would it make a difference?

Im asking in GENERAL because i need a quick answer. Please understand mods!

if you have 1GB RAM and a 7800GTX plus a 3.8Ghz Processor. Then you should already be able to run everything on high. Of course there would be some improvement in load time with the 2GB RAM

Heeellll no! I have 1GB and a new 6800GT and every time I play, the graphics are so good and framerates so fast, that a kitten dies.

Im thinkin, maybe a 7800GT with a 3800+, 1GB PC 3200 RAM.

I want NO LAG, a comp that will last me AT LEAST 2 years.

I have a 6600GT with a gig of ram and can run everything on high with no lag. Well no hardware related lag ... the occasional internet cause lag though hehe.

Just get the extra gig..you'll be glad you did. Especially since you can get a gig of ram for 75$ now on newegg.com Hell, I have 3.

If you want to join the game when everyone else does, you need the 2 Gigs... with 1 Gig you will be starting late on the map and have no chance of getting any good vehicles.

ok this is why you dont post hardware problems in general cause of certain people, you definently need 2 gigs for good proformance on bf2 trust me.

I'm planning on getting another gig of ram, i have 1 gig PC3200 and a X700, it plays most settings on high but i want more! :p

with a 7800GTX and a 3.7Ghz cpu you won't have any performance in FPS .

But you will have performance in starting up, loading, no stutering start of rounds, .... .

For the record, if you have 2gig of ram and that system, you are best to use a SATA disc, IDE is to slow and would still give you longuer loading times because it can't fill up the ram fast enough
