whats the difference betweent a Geforce FX 6600 256 mb and a Geforce 6600 256 mb

fx seems to be like 20 buks more than the other one. is there a difference? ya i'm thinkin of getting one... better than an fx 5200:laugh:

Dont think the FX means anything, just a name brought forward from the last generation. Only 2 models are available in th 6000 range, the 6600 and the 6600GT. Maybe the FX is factory overclocked to warrent the extra cost, not sure. Who are the card manufacturers?

i wouldnt buy a 6600 id buy the 6600GT its alot better card!!!

Um, there is no FX before the models anymore, that was for the 5xxx series, the really sucky cards from nVida. There's no difference, and like the other guy said, buy a 6600GT, much better card, about 150 bucks on newegg.com. Great mid range deal for a vid card.

The difference being the manufacturer...have they OC the card or added better cooling fan!
Also, freebies when you buy the card.

XFX 6600GT is the one mate.

RAM is only useful when you running HIGH resolutions, but with that high resolution you need speed to support it. That is something that the 6600 vanilla does not have.

6600GT BEATS the 6600 complety. Also, the 6600GT has MUCH faster RAM. 6600 has DDR, then the 6600GT has GDDR3.

Yes...6600GT is a good card.
If you want to though...you can upgrade for about 10-15 bucks more to a vanilla 6800.
It will do you good, I have one and it is defiantly better than a 6600GT :)
