Anyone know how to get higher display frequency working than 85Hz. I tried editing video.con line with frequency to higher number but it crashes to desktop.
That's really a great monitor, believe man, u will not see the dif.
Human eye can see till 30Hz (30 changes a sec.) things changing.
In game u'll no see any dif.

I can see a big difference between 60 and 85. At 60 i see a type of flicker which gives me a massive headache if i look at my screen for too long.
As for the orginal poster, your monitor may support upto 120hz or whatever, bu the higher resolution you go the lower the max refresh rate you can have. Probably at the res you are playing at 85hz max is all the monitor can handle. Do not try to force it above that or you may cause damage.
You can usually access higher refresh by lowering your desktop resolution. My monitor only goes to 75 Hz at 1600x1200, but will hit 120 Hz at 1024x768.

So what you're implying is that you see no difference of 30 and 85 FPS? Now that's weird. I can see the difference of 60, 85 and 100 Hz, 120 is a bit harder...
On Topic:
Your monitor probably supports 160Hz in the resolution 640x480. That means you've probably got a 19" monitor (since you never stated this), therefore, you should be able to run 800x600 in 120, 1024x768 in 100 and 1280x960 in 85 and 1600x1200 in 75 Hz. This is an overall rating, there are better and worse 19" monitors.
In my BF2 video options it gives me the choice of what refresh rate to choose and I picked the 1024x768 100hz option. Im not sure why it would not show up for you if you can enable it when not in the game. Sorry i could not help more.

That is a huge misconception that wont go away, i blame people repeating it in this fashion with no explanation. to expand a little there is NO proven maximum perception of frame rates as our eyes and brains dont work like TV's or computers.
This (long and quite technical) webpage http://amo.net/nt/02-21-01fps.html explains it all in detail, in the hope that this "urban myth" can finally die! :yay: For anyone that dosent want to read all that, here are three pertinent quotes.
What is often called motion blur, is really how our unique vision handles motion, in a stream, not in a frame by frame. If our eyes only saw frames (IE: 30 images a second), like a single lens reflex camera, we'd see images pop in and out of existance and that would really be annoying and not as advantagous to us in our three dimensional space and bodies.
The Human Eye perceives information continuously, we do not perceive the world through frames. You could say we perceive the external visual world through streams, and only lose it when our eyes blink.
Until someone proves me, all the scientists, optometrists, and the like wrong, there is no limit to how many frames per second our human eye can see. Theoretical limit yes, proven limit, NO.
the human see's life at 70 fps (or 70 Htz if you rather, pretty much same thing) and anything above that you physically can not see the difference.
Although a 70fps ingame is often noticable because when you turn ingame your frame rate will drop dramatically untill you stop turning. if you turn slowly, you will have less rate drop.
and dont get me wrong, i know you dont actually see things in frames, but once video hits 70fps, you will not be able to tell the difference between it and continuous view.
DytHlt, did you actually read that link in my post???
PLEASE stop spreading urban myths, there is NO proven limit to the eyes perception of FPS, and even a "theoretical" maximum would be well over 200, but most people in the know agree that there probably is no "actual" limit. Certainly no-one has ever found one after a century of trying AGAIN IN BOLD.......
http://amo.net/nt/02-21-01fps.html < everything you ever wanted to know about how the eye works and why we can ALL see over 30fps, over 70fps, over 200fps, etc, etc

I agree; you'd have to be about blind to not be able to see a difference between 30 FPS and like... 60 FPS on this game.
