4ms vs. 12ms LCD Monitor: Noticeable difference?

Is there a noticeable difference between 12ms and 4ms LCD monitor for gaming?

Is this a good 4ms?

I have a 12ms LCD monitor with 700:1 contrast which I can easily return to Costco and then purchase the above monitor. The above monitor has 550:1 contrast. In your opinion is the 8ms response time difference worth the drop in contrast? Thanks

basicly the less the ms is the better preformance it is. i have a 12ms samsung one and its great u prob wouldnt even notice diffrence in gaming if u get that monitor. but 4ms is good responce time

I have an 8 MS response time monitor with a 700:1 contrast ratio and it's perfect for BF2. Love it. 4MS is great.

4ms is awesome. I have been holding off on getting an LCD because of the response times. 8ms almost sold me but now that 3 and 4 ms panels are comming out, I will be making the switch.

It's not actual 4ms, If I remember one of the reviews on the Viewsonic X-series, the average response time was like 6-7ms. I'm sure it's still great but I dunno if it's good enough for a switch if you got a really good 8ms LCD. I suggest investing in a widescreen LCD, i LOVE my Dell 2005FPW.

I have the monitor you linked to.

Absolutely no ghosting.

The VP191 is supposedly better latency wise though, check tom's hardware.

yeh i have a 17inch viewsonic with 4ms and a 19inch viewsonic with a 12ms responce and the 4ms is easier to look at and in a way clearer
