seems ati will take full adantage of switching to 90nm by gettin much higher clockspeeds out of there cards

by putting in only sixteen pipes in this should lower the price of the card and so give the buyer better value for money (i hope) but lower the peformance


what you guys think?

7800GTX right now is king of all cards. Ati will have to make 32 piplelines in order to catch up to Nvidia.

looks like ati falling behind nvdia in a big way

depends on how high ati plans to put the clockspeeds but doesnt look like the r520 will be as good as the 7800gtx or even the gt


but almost probably it will be at a lower price than the 7800gtx

Ok, i think i might switch from a tiny bias to ATi, to a tiny bias to nVidia, i mean seriously, 16 pipes for they're second best card, that sux. I wonder how the R580 will do then, doubt they'll have 32 pipes as ATi said.

Yeah, they went from reports of 32 pipes, to 24, to 16, that's right where our cards are, i'm not going to buy that. THe next card i buy will be inlike 3 years and it'll have like at least 32 pipes.

The 7800 Ultra, due out by Christmas will have much higher clockspeeds than the 7800 GTX.

You sure hope for alot of things to happen. I find it highly unlikely if nVidia has the best card on the market that they would lower there prices. That would be asinine. If you have the best product you charge the most you can.

To be honest with you I am waiting to upgrade. I currently use 9800pro (like alot of bf2 players i have run into) I am waiting to upgrade. I will porbably go with the new 7800Ultra though:)
