I was thinking about getting a new video card for my pc, although i dont know whether i should get a 6600gt or a 6800. I have a P4 2.4ghz pcu and i was wondering if either of those cards will bottleneck because of it. Id sooner get the 6800, but if it will perform the same as the 6600gt then im not going to spend the extra money. Also if u guys think i should get a different card then feel free to tell me, but i dont want to spend more than $200. Also i have an agp slot. Thanks.

Re: Video card bottleneck?...
for under $200, you could get the ati radeon x700(256mb), the nvidia geforce 6600gt(128mb), or the lowest, the nvidia geforce 6200 256mb video card. i dont anything about if it will bottleneck your system. -

HEY, I also have a 2.4ghz P4. The card i chose is a Evga 6800. This card has done amazing things for me. i was able to overclock it and unlock the extra pipes and shaders. i know im not using it to its full potential because i only have 768 megs of ram. heres a linky to where i purchased it, the total was $194.00 from newegg... http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130202Comment

Re: Video card bottleneck?...
my settings are currently at medium with tex filter on high 4x aa. however with my card o'clocked from 325 core 700 memory to 380 core 820 memory the graphics are as good as any high detail screen shots ive seen. as far as my framerate goes i think i average 35 to 40 fps, keep in mind i really need more ram. I have gotten everything down to where my gameplay is smooth....forgot to mention i use rivatuner to o'clock and i have the temp of my card visible at all times, i average 55 to 60 degrees when playing...stock cooling.Comment

No the x700 is not. If you get the 6800, go with the eVGA, that's what most ppl have been having the best luck unlocking.Comment

Re: Video card bottleneck?...
I have a 2.26Ghz 512Mb and XFX 6600GT 128Mb. Settings are Medium, one low and
AAx2.
If I were you, I would get the 6600GT until you can get a Higher Processor Speed...not worth the extra cash...also, how much memory do you have?Comment

The 6800nu outperforms the 6600gt (even before it is unlocked) and is only $30 more.Comment
