Hey i'm trying to upgrade to an X800XL form a 6600GT OC by BFG, is it worth it? I've researched it and looked at tons of benchies and i think it is.

Well, depends, if you think the performance is enough to offset the price. It's a great card, i run mostly max settings, 1280x960, no lag, 25-65fps, usuallly liike 45-50 fps, it's a great card.Originally posted by -=| Foley |=- -

It depends on what your current comp specs are. If your sticking this into something like an xp2000+ then it would be completely wasted.

If the 6600GT is already pre-overclocked then I would say no personally, unless you plan to OC the X800XL too, but even then the performance gain would not be that huge.Comment

YEah, double the pipelines, almost the same speed, about a 100 mhz difference max. Anyways, i wouldn't overclock your VPU too much for BF2, BF2 isn't overclocking friendly.Originally posted by -=| Foley |=-Comment

Unless one has the extra cash to throw around, I have an upgrade "rule of thumb."
An upgrade should double the performance of the given component and contrubute significantly to the user exprience or it is not worth it.
The performance is not quite double but it's darn close.Comment
