Remember mine is P35 so its built on a larger manufacturing process and gets hotter. But yeah anyway, the NB itself can handle the extra vlts and FSB but the temps get up to 70+c.

Going from 9x to 8x will require a bit more NB volts, that is all. All stock NB heatsinks (unless you have a gash board) will hold their own.

yeah i noticed that from your 3DMark score but i will need to wait for the HR-05 to come because the current heatsink struggles with any significant voltage increase (fingers crossed it will fit)

Just ordered a new northbridge heatsink so i thought i would check my 3D mark before i finish overclocking my CPU.

Not bad really considering i havent pushed my GPU any further than its pre-overclocked stock settings and my FSB/multi is only 355 x 9 :)

Yeah, that's the fun thing. If I want to overclock I need a new mobo... and then I'll need a new case as well, because my current one is tiny. And I don't really feel like doing all that for a soon to be 2 ½ years old CPU.

I'll sell my system to my family somewhere around the summer, and together with the money I've saved I'll hopefully afford a Q9550 (and the other stuff I'll need).

FInally beat 17000!!! It's been my goal all along and finally came when i went from 3.7ghz (412 x 9) to 3.7ghz (465 x 8)
