My HP i have now came with a HIPRO 250 watt power supply. I bought a new 430 watt antec truepower to power my 6800gt. I am taking a good guess that yours does too, maybe 300 watts. Anyway, if you want a 7800gt, you are going to need a better PSU. I suggest Antec, PC Power and Cooling, or Seasonic, at least 400 watts.

Your power supply is 300 watts; runs an X800 Pro fine, but a 7800GTX might need more power.

            Cheers

That TruePower is a good PSU, so long as the 500 Watt is the same type you should be okay.

If you have an HP like me get a mini atx power supply as a normal power supply will not fit unless the fans are arranaged differently like mine.
