Need a head set / ear wrap around microphone but NO Headphone!

Man I've looked and looked and can't find this. Can any of you peeps point me in the right direction? I've got Klipsch surround sound speakers that I love and am looking for JUSTa microphone that will wrap around my ear, and have an extended mic up to my mouth. Again I don't want any type of ear phone or head phone.

This way I can speak clearly using my VOIP but also enjoy my speakers. Currently I have a goose neck microphone but I'm also having to crane down and speak to it will in game. I've even tried hanging it from my neck but it doesn't work well.

Does this type of microphone exist? Again, ear mounted microphone with some type of stem or extension where the mic comes up to my mouth but no head phone what so ever. So it would have to wrap around my ear somehow .

He already said, he doesnt want to have to lean over to it just say something, much easier to have it next to your gob !

on my headset there are to wires one for the mic and one for the ear phones. you can just plug the mic cable in and viola

I have a mic/ headphone set; but the cable splits in two at the end, with one wire for the mic and the other for headphone, so I can choose to just use the mic whilst using my normal speakers. Mines made by Labtec from the UK.

just buy a cheap headset on ebay for $1->$5, just plug the mic jack in and continue to use the speakers, thats what i do.

I use a Plantronics headset with only one ear piece. Sometimes when it’s too annoying I just let the thing hang round my neck and I’m able to keep the mic part up by my mouth…

I know you asked for no ear piece but… well, this is what I got.

Guys I do understand what you're saying. I have that free headset and Microphone that came with BF2 that I use, and just plug in the microphone part.

BUT...

With the ear phone not in use by my ear they kind of block the sound from my speakers. I end up trying to pull them down on my ears but they're still there which is annoying.

OK what about those mics that I've seen singers use in concert? You know like Britney Spears and Madona? It appears it's attached to one of their ears and has a stem microphone that comes to their mouth but lacks any type of ear phone.

This is so they can dance and use their hands without holding a microphone.

This type of mic MUST exist! Hell I'll pay $100 TO GET ONE even if it's for a professional signer.

Help me here peeps, I've looked and looked but can't find one.

Not sure if it works with a PC but I think I'm on to something!

Also thinking outside the box that might be interesting is a 'throat mic.' You know the kind that SWAT uses, but I seem to recall seeing them press it gently into their throats before talking which would be a pain playing BF2.

You may want to check ebay or look at audio DJ websites for public speaking equipment.

Or if you are a cheap a$$ like me, I play with a pair of sony studio headphones and put the cheap bf2 headphones around my neck and just extend the mic towards my mouth. It works great

OK I pulled the trigger. I got the microhpone listed above, plus a 6 inch extension cord (only came wiht 5 inches which is silly) and a recommended microphone amplifier box that apparently is required for Sound blaster sound cards.

All told it came to $70 but I think it will be well worth it in a heated game where VOIP is being utilized.

I can have my cake and eat it to now! :)

Just make sure you use key activation of course, or you'll have other people listening to what you're blasting out of your speakers. :P

you should get a cheap headset. and just not plug in the headphone part. thats how i used to do it and it was all good.

Yep I use my B key to activate the mic. And punisher regarding what you're advocating, see my previous posts on this thread.

Thanks everyone for your input I've got my solution although it's not cheap it's exactly what I'm looking for.

You could buy a directional microphone. They are like $70 though.
