    RAM question

Which is better, lower or higher cas latency?

For example, would my 512 sticks on Corsair Value select running at 2.5-3-3-8 @ 200MHz run faster than my friends GeiL 512 sticks running at 2.5-4-4-8 @ 200MHz?

    Re: RAM question

In theory. The lower the latency the faster it can process data.

      Re: RAM question

Theoretically yes. The performance difference of those two sticks are minimal at best.

        Re: RAM question

Don't count on being the king with such tight timings. The differences can easily be made up for in other aspects. 2.5-3-3-8 is really good timings, expecially for Value RAM, but 2.5-4-4-8 could match or surpass it with a small Overclock. My system Overclocks my RAM by default to 203Mhz while many other systems will not overclock by default.
