Ok, I'm actually not getting this card until december. By then, should I get the GeForce 7800GT or get the ATI R-Series?

Well, until December, you should check out the benchmarks and prices of the new ATi cards that come out, see the balance between those, see if getting extra performance that might come outta ATi is worth the extra price, balance it out and decide.
