My friend and I need a joystick and I saw this add on Best Buy. Do you think this joystick would be sufficient for flight? What is the liklihood of it breaking in a week? Any other joystick suggestions? Thanks!

I used to have exactly that joystick. It was pretty good for flying jets, but I found it hard (but not impossible) for helicopters. I had it for over a year without anything breaking. I've now got the Saitek Cyborg Evo Force http://www.saitekusa.com/usa/prod/cyborg_evo_force.htm & its amazing. -

Thats why I stopped using the Logitech & got the Saitek, for twist rudder. Its a personal thing, some love it & some aren't bothered either way. I used to use the Logitec with 2 buttons on the base mapped to rudder control, which sort of worked. Now the Saitek has analogue rudder, I find it much better for planes & helicopters as it gives me much better control when lining up on a ground target or dog-fighting in a jet. Personally, I think its made me a better pilot.Comment

Uh...try a top gun thrustmaster fox 2 pro. 30 bucks maybe even cheaper than 30, a lot better quality than that. plus the top gun has twist rudders. it got a 92.5 on www.joystickreview.com (thats like all perfect 10's execpt 1)

they got a freakin' awesome new one called the HOTAS Cougar, beats the crap out of the Saitek X45 or whatever. It's a carbon copy of the USAF F-16 flightstick. All metal. no plastic. " Full metal casing including base, handle, and buttons " <--right from article.

Update: I got the Logitech 3D Pro and....I believe I can fly...I believe I can touch the sky...I think about every night and day....Spread my wings and fly away...ooooooohhhhh...Ok sorry but dude you guys were right, the joystick helps a lot! Still using the mouse for helicopters. My dogfighting/bombing skills need some work but I feel like I am on my way now.
The twist yaw control is key!Comment

I have a Wingman Extreme right next to me and as others said...it is hard to fly helicopters. I plan to upgrade to a Cyborg Evo Wireless in the near future
