BF2 on Laptops

Hi guys, I really want to get involved in BF2 but only have my laptop. What are the major drawbacks of playing on a laptop? Are there any definite upgrades/accesories that you shouldn't go without? And will it be possible to run BF2 on my current system?...

I'm not really certain what that processor speed is, but everything else looks good. I run a Dell XPS Notebook with a 3.4GHz processor, 1GB ram, and a Radeon 9700 128mb video card. My only recommendation would be to upgrade your ram to 1024mb. It seems like having a gig of that stuff is always good today.

Aside from that, I love BF2 on my laptop. With a wireless connection in your house, you can play everywhere. Nothing like taking out a helicopter full of people while on the toilet :laugh:

My brother has an XPS laptop generation 2 with a Pentium-M 2.0 GHz processor, a gig of ram, and a 6800 Ultra. He can play the game on high fine :)

problem is of course you can't upgrade because laptops are a pain to take apart.

Right, they can be a pain when upgrading. If I want to upgrade my video card from 128mb to 256, I can have a dell certified tech guy come over and do it for me. But, I think your laptop will run BF2. The only thing i'd recommend is adding 512ram, which can be as easy as unscrewing a panel and snapping another stick in. If you have 2 256mb sticks, you'll have to get rid of one, and maybe pay a lot more if you have to put a 1gb stick in. Anyway, as is, I "think" that you can run BF2.
