It's called endorsing...

It benefits the companies, because they sell more chips/ or in this case sound cards, and the gamers because they know they're getting the best, or at least a good / great product.

Best Buy doesnt have the one with 64mb ram in my city, that'd be the one worth testing out.

Bad memories of playing BF1942 on that. Then I got an Nforce 2 mobo with SoundStorm on board audio, that was much better. Then I went to my Audigy 2, makes a world of difference, I can only imagine this beast in action

I'd like my X-Fi Plat a bit better if I could actually run BF2 in X-Fi mode.

All it does now when I switch is crash to desktop.

I have to run in Hardware/High to keep it running.

I read somewhere that there are new drivers on the soundblaster.com auto update.

Someone said it was 100mb, not sure if that is true.

do you guys with a X-FI get reverb effects in menu? I mean if you click on a menu you get a sonar like sound?

I got the card yesterday... from Best Buy... great card but not worth it if you have a good Audigy 2 or 4... don't take me wrong very nice card.. I bought it cause my old card fried ... but expecting to have a brand new spanking sound after migrating from Audigy 2 or 4... I will say no worth it...
