My opinion: ABSOLUTELY!
This is especially true if you are a member of a chopper crew. The pilot can see the enemy in front of him, but the gunners on the side will not be able to see them. If the pilot and the crew has the microphone (as my crew does), we can hear the pilot say something like "Enemy car coming up on the right", or "I need someone to jump out and blah blah blah." It promotes good communication between the members.
It also works well if a sniper and a spotter get together. There are many good uses for it. The good thing is that they are cheap. One that works well costs about $15.00

Re: Headsets
Certainly worth having one.
I would recommend a USB headset/mic so that if you are using an app like TeamSpeak or Ventrillo you can still have your game sounds coming through your speakers while having voice chat come through your headset.
Hopefully they will improve in-game headset functionality with future patches though making it even MORE fun to use a headset

Re: Headsets
HAHAHA...suckers. I got mine for $2. The lady at Radio Shack told me $2 when I asked her and then when I went to the counter she said "ohh I thought these we're $2. They're $17. That's alright I told you $2 so go ahead and just pay that."
Employee stupidity is money-saving :)
She was cute too. I think more blondes need to work at RS.

Re: Headsets
I'd even go as far as recommending a 5.1 headset. The Medusa 5.1 (www.speedlink.de) is a beauty.

Radio Shack is no more in Canada...they are now called The Source by Circuit City.Originally posted by SphinxWhat the hell's a radio shack? we don't have them over here.
Circuit City Stores and InterTAN Canada today announced that by July 1, 2005, all Radio Shack stores in Canada will be re-named The Source by Circuit City.
Effective today, the companies Toronto Eaton Centre location will be the first store to fly the new banner.
The Source by Circuit City
The change results from a Texas court ruling in March that the RadioShack Corporation, based out of Fort Worth Texas, was within its rights to terminate its license, merchandising and advertising agreements with InterTan, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Circuit City Stores Inc.
InterTan, which is based in Barrie, Ontario, operates 980 company-owned and dealer stores in Canada and continued to license the RadioShack brand name and purchase private-label merchandise in Canada after the Tandy Corporation spun off its international operations on June 20th, 1986.
According to the ruling, after June 30, 2005, Circuit City and InterTan must stop using the RadioShack brand name in store signage, packaging, products and advertising for company-owned and dealer stores in Canada.
