    ABIT RX800-guru GOOD CARD?

How are you goin, I am trying to find a reasonble graphics card that I can afford to play BF2 on and can get the ABIT rx800-guru for $330 Australian. I know its performance would not be quite as good as the top x800 cards but have not been able to find any actual reviews on it other than ones written by abit themselves. It does seem to have a lower clock speed but still has 256MB and 256Bit memory adress bus.
Is this card OK, Can it be flashed to the same specs as the top x800,s and is ABIT a good brand.......thanks for any help...I just want to get in it play this awsome game...cheers.

Yea I THINK that an X800 VIVO can be flashed to unlock the pipelines.

    Have you thought about a 6800 256mb?

Also what are you running? PCI-E or AGP?

    Thanks

thanks for that info, Its a AGP system so limits it a bit. cant realy find a good price on any 6800 cards here in OZ. x800-guru card just looked like a good deal but unsure if it is actually a good version of the x800. I am a bit stuck because I have got a credit with this store from my old card so I have to buy from them..this seemed to be the best option they had....Have heard those 6800's are good but.

That site is pretty mad. I would be interested in doing some of those mods but still dont know what is possible with this x800-guru version.

          system specs
          1 gig memory dual ddr
          3.2ghz pentium prescott
          gigabyte mother board intel chipset
40 gig drive (my larger drive is in server for data)IDE not sata
          21 inch sony crt monitor
          xp prof.

Cheers Noni, have a good one

            tk400,

I would seriously consider saving up a bit more and buying a 6800GT.

Its fast, and is EASILY overclockable to a 6800ULTRA with stock cooling.

It also has SHADER MODEL 3 which none of ATi cards have.

Good luck tk400. Keep me informed!
