    Re: CPU cooler,

hmm...im gonna read over that, water cooling sounds great. but might take a bit longer now that my dads taking half of each of my paycheck.....so that just put me back like...2 months of savings for my computer upgrades heh

other thing is....ive never done any type of fan upgrades otehr then buying the CPU fan..and thats just a basic stock one lol...never done anything to my GPU fan or anything...im just wayyyy nervous about doin this crap lol. also my case is an odd shaped one (custom hypercube from frozencpu.com) anyone have any expierence with those and high proformance cooling stuff?

      Re: CPU cooler,

Asetek Waterchill Antartica and the Swiftech H20 are both good systems for getting starting out in watercooling. Swiftech is easiest.

I use the Waterchill system and have my cpu, graphics card, northbridge and all three hard drives watercooled using two loops and a 120mm single radiator and a twin 120mm rad.

Never had a problem and run at 42c under full load (ie) 8 hours of Prime 95

Full load means hes using the core at its full potiental, so its the maximum amount of heat.

As almost everyone has already said :

              Zalman 7700

              You won't regret it.

If you have a cube, a zalman will not fit, as well as most liquid cooling systems. Your best bet is to take your cube to the local computer place-circuit city, comp usa, best buy- and physically LOOK at how the fans will work. You may be limited to what you can realisticly put in the case with nothing touching or rubbing.

                    Re: CPU cooler,

yes the Zalman fan looks mad cool but how would it perform comparing to the stock X2 fan? is it worth the extra $40 or is it just for looks. my next build with have a Coolermaster Wavemaster case, which does not come with side panels so i will not care much about the looks.

                      Re: CPU cooler,

Zalman if your not gonna do crazy overclocking.

If you are gonna do overclocking get the Thermalright XP-90 or XP-120. They will keep the cpu cooler.

Can be queiter than what? Get a panaflo on top of a xp-120 and I can guarantee that it'll be the quitest, coolest CPU cooler out there. The XP-120 has huge heatpipes, it's impossible for the zalman to be cooler. Panaflo's fans are some of the quietest and most efficient cpu-coolers out there.

The zalmans are great, I'd personally get one if the 7700 had the blue LED like the 7000's :\. The DFI mobo loses a few slots with the 7700 so I'm getting the XP-90C, it's quite expensive but copper is ****in beatiful.

Btw, you said zalman looks better.... this is a cpu cooler, not a freakin led light. What looks better is not what's important in its' purpose.

im not to conserned about looks...im mostly worried that whatever i buy wont FIT in my case =/

btw, for a cooling system...im lookin for one with a external resivoir or whatever the term is, i want to be able to feed the tubes out of my case so i dont ahve all the stuff inside the case taking up more room...its already kinda cramped in there
