Will a 7800 gtx be bottlenecked by the following processors: AMD 939 3000+, 3200+, 3500+? If so what graphics cards do you recommend for those processors, respectively? Thanks!

Re: 7800 gtx bottleneck?
3200+ has the potential for a higher OC with a 10x multiplyer as opposed to the 9x multiplyer on the 3000. Of those 3 I'd recommend the 3200 and a good OCing board. The 7800GTX is a beast and I'd go for the 3800 or 4000 chips in the Athlon 64 series. I think a good balance for those chips would be the X800XL or OC'd 6800gt

Re: 7800 gtx bottleneck?
yeah, i'd go with a x800xl or a 6800gt and overclock them like a mutha. I have a 3000+ A64 winchester and 6800gt and it tears up BF2. I'm thinking that maybe next year i'll get an A64 X2 processor (all I need is a BIOS upgrade), or I might just upgrade the whole rig near the end of next year.
Only thing I need now is another Gig of ram

Are you saying a 3200+ can be OCed more than 3500+?Originally posted by lcplsickoll3200+ has the potential for a higher OC with a 10x multiplyer as opposed to the 9x multiplyer on the 3000. Re: 7800 gtx bottleneck?
You can overclock a 3200+ to about 2.6ghz. that's way faster than 3500+, that's the speed of a FX 55, now i just have to figure out how to do that.

I could probably get me 3000 up to 2.6GHz with aftermarket cooling, just dont wanna bring it up that high

Re: 7800 gtx bottleneck?
I've said this many many many ****ing times, an AMD Athlon 64 3200 will NOT bottleneck a 7800 GTX more than 10 fps on almost any resolution. On the more common resolutions, its only like a 5 fps difference.

Re: 7800 gtx bottleneck?
theres a difference between a bottleneck and a HINDERENCE, no an 3200+ will NOT bottleneck the 7800 GTX, it will still get higher FPS than any other card, but it will get less FPS than the card is capable of, a bottleneck would be when your CPU is maxed out and you get the same FPS with a 6800 and a 7800 but this is not the case... so go for the 7800

Re: 7800 gtx bottleneck?
ok let me put this in your little minds, a 7800GTX will only bottle neck if your intending to benchmark on 3dmark05. and to be fare in game matters instead of watching videos all your life.
I have oreder a 7800GTX to go in my rig (see sig) i will tell you the outcome later!!!

Don't worry, he is, between a FX-57 and a 2800+ there's going to be like only 5 fps difference, good CPUs are for other programs as well as benchmarks, benchmarks are for nerds that want bragging rights, like this: OMG, my computer is so uber, it got 8500 on 3Dmark05, my computer owns all of yoursOriginally posted by GiddyKipperI hope your right cuz I just ordered my new rig with AMD 3700 939 and a 7800gtx..........
