can someone gimme an exact list of parts maybe? it would be really helpful!

How bout this:

CPU: 4000+ Athlon 64 processor, clawhammer or san diego core, i reccomend San Diego, they have 1mb L2 caches.
Memory: 2x1GB COrsair XMS Xpert memory modules.
Hard Drive: Two 74GB Raptor Hard Drives in RAID 0.
Sound Card: Creative Labs Sound Blaster Audigy 2ZS.
PSU: 550watt true control Antec power supply.

The rest like speakers, monitor etc. you can pick, that config is pretty good, you can mess around with it to tweak it to how ya like it, it should run max on max resolution with the 7800GTX.

This sounds good but the Raptors are loud, if sound is a concern. If budget's a concern then don't bother with the Raptors and RAID, there's very little if any gain in GAMING performance. Boot up and overall system performance will be better though.

It's all relative. You probably won't notice it if you currently have a noisey machine.

hmmm im thinking of dropping the raptors because my list that i made up is about 1800 us so i will drop the two raptors and its around 1600

Looking good. You may want to go with the Asus A8N-SLI if you're using Nvidia cards. It's not much more money and you have the option for SLi if you want it later.

yeah, I left it off on purpose cause he didn't mention he wanted that option or not. It only adds another $30-50 to the price of the mobo.

I also left off the PSU, as i'm not sure if the case you want has one or not. It needs to be pretty beefy and definately DON'T SKIMP ON THE PSU, IT'S THE BACKBONE OF YOUR SYSTEM. A good PSU will cost you at LEAST $70-$100. You can also switch out the 4000+ San Diego for a 3800+ or 4200+ X2 dual core processor. It still plays games very well, and you get the added benefit of buttery smooth multitasking.

seriously though, get 2 gigs (2x1 GB) so dual channel will still work. BF2 needs the 2 gigs (and most games in the future will benefit as well).
