Dual Moniters

Where do you plug the other moniter in, I have a white VIVO (whatever you call those) and a blue one (currently connected to my moniter). I'm thinking about getting another moniter, does it help?

There is no native dual-monitor support in BF2.

Usually to have 2 monitors set up (if you have to monitors with standard VGA plugs) you plug one monitor into the standard VGA port, then you plug a DVI-VGA adapter into the DVI port and plug the 2nd monitor into that.

If your second monitor has a DVI connector, then simply plug it in

I run dual monitors, it comes in handy when working on video editing or just want to have two things going on at once. Just plug both in and restart your comp and right click on your desktop to your properties. A second screen will be ghosted, click on extend your desktop and voila. It may take some tweaking as I think it defaults to clone mode (where both screens show the same thing), but I have it setup that I can be watching a video on one and surfing the web on another. I also have a tv tuner card so i can watch tv on either screen.

But you can't game with both screens going i'm afraid. The performance hit would be too great anyway. I always disable my second monitor and restart my comp before playing any BF2.

jbean, im about to go with dual monitors, Do you really have to disconnect your monitor. I saw/read somewhere that you could set your second monitor to go in standby mode when your game started up?...Also does it put a bigger strain on your card when theres two? Can Anyone else Help With This

I think so, look at the outputs(where you hook the monitor up) there should be the standard vga outlet anong with a DVI outlet, you may have to get a DVI to vga converter to make it work....to make it work go to the display settings, check the box to extend the desktop and presto dual monitors(you may need yo restart first).
You can also make then clone each other or extend one into the other, making one big screen.

i run duals..

when bf2's running my other screen just shows the desktop. I run winbar on it, so i can monitor ram usage, cpu usage, bandwidth, etc...helps a lot to see whats going on when my pc gets screwed up...

i use two benq fp731's lcds with an x800, one through dvi and one tthrough agp

I leave my second monitor running when I play bf2.
I don't see a noticeable proformance difference.

well i use dual monitors cause i do Graphic Design and its heaven when u split Photoshop into 2 screens. or when im playing BF2 ill have teamspeak in the other window
